Rise of the Resistance

Rise of the Resistance is the newest, most popular ride in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. Because of the popularity of Rise of the Resistance you can’t just “wait in line” to ride. In order to ride, you must have a boarding pass which allows you to virtually “wait in line”. Once you receive a boarding pass, you will get a return time to ride Rise of the Resistance.

Boarding Passes are secured through your My Disney Experience App. Boarding passes open up daily at 7 am and again at 1pm. Here’s how to try for one:

7am Boarding Group:

1. You must have a ticket AND park pass reservation for Hollywood Studios.

2. Make sure your tickets, and travel party are linked up in My Disney Experience app (I can help you with this).

3. Set an alarm to be up before 7am on the day of your visit (You can be anywhere on property/or off property to try for a boarding group at 7am).

4. Make sure you have good wifi or network service.

5. Open your My Disney Experience App and find “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance-Request Access with Virtual Queue” on the Home Screen.

6. Be ready to click “Join” as soon as the clock turns 7:00 am.

7. JUST KEEP CLICKING. After you click “Join,” you’ll see a few more screens to click though. It will be tempting to stop and read each screen, don’t, just click through each screen as fast as you can.

8. If you DO NOT get a boarding group at 7am you can try again at 1pm. Set an alarm for 12: 55pm on your phone so you don’t forget.

1pm Boarding group:

1. You must be in Hollywood Studios to try for a boarding group at 1pm.

2. Open your My Disney Experience App and find “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance-Request Access with Virtual Queue” on the Home Screen.

3. Be ready to click “Join” as soon as the clock turns 1:00 pm.

4. JUST KEEP CLICKING. After you click “Join,” you’ll see a few more screens to click though. It will be tempting to stop and read each screen, don’t, just click through each screen as fast as you can.

If you secure a boarding pass, you’ll have an assigned boarding group. Boarding groups are called in order throughout the day. You can see your boarding groups status by clicking “Check Status” where you joined your boarding group.

If you have issues after you’ve tried for a boarding pass (like not everyone in your party secured a pass), head to a Guest Services tent inside the park. Look for the blue umbrellas that say “Guest Services.”
